Main Purpose of Role
To support the Head of Risk in monitoring the performance of Duologi’s lending portfolios to create credit risk mitigation strategies, with a focus on optimisation of lending policy and strategy.
Responsibilities include the regular review of portfolio monitoring to make informed decisions on analytical priorities and managing the delegation of work across the credit risk team, including getting hands on with analysis and reporting.
The role holder will be a key part of the identification, communication, and escalation of credit risk issues and mitigation proposals, so will need to build relationships with other teams and be able to present clearly and concisely to stakeholders across the business.
Main Duties (non-exhaustive)
Portfolio Management
– Oversee reporting on, and continuously review, performance of the lending portfolios.
– Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to keep credit loss within risk appetite.
– Produce and collate monthly credit risk MI and ad-hoc reporting for governance forums.
– Monitor credit quality of loan applications and credit performance of activated loans to assess changes in credit risk and/or macro-economic trends to inform business decisions.
– Use monitoring of RPOS merchants to identify those that require closer monitoring, mitigation, or removal and present issues and proposals to the Counterparty Risk Forum
Risk Modelling
– Regularly review risk models to make sure they remain fit for purpose and that improvements are identified and implemented as appropriate.
– Direct and oversee economic credit loss models (PD/EAD/LGD) to forecast expected credit losses over the next 12+ months.
Support the production of stress test models to assess expected loss in various economic scenarios.
– Oversee annual provision model updates and review monthly credit loss provision estimates.
Credit Risk Team
– Support the Head of Risk by accounting for commercial or business requirements, such as product or portfolio changes when prioritising analytical work streams.
– Delegate work across the credit risk team, including getting hands on with analysis to help manage workload across the team and/or take on the more sophisticated analytical work.
– Work with team members to make sure that work is being produced efficiently and to deadlines.
– Provide training and guidance to credit risk team members on analytical methods and how to communicate and present output to senior stakeholders.
Person Specification
– Minimum 5 years’ experience, ideally gained in a financial services company or similar professional services environment, with previous experience of managing or leading a team
– Experience of designing and implementing effective monitoring and management frameworks
– Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, capable of handling multiple streams
– Previous experience in one or more credit risk methodologies, such as Scorecard development, PD/EAD/LGD capital modelling, or IFRS 9 credit loss provision
– Strong analytical coding experience in SAS, SQL, or similar programming language
– Ability to effectively delegate work across a team, but also willing and able to create code and analysis as part of the day-to-day role
– Proven experience in using credit risk analysis to drive business decision and processes
– Ability to clearly communicate complex analytical data to non-technical stakeholders
– Good standard of written and spoken English
